Thanks for all your suggestions/comments.
I finally bought Linksys WRT54GL. It has been good so far (Got it only few
days ago, really)
Price : Sujata Computers near Nalstop. Rs. 3000 without haggling.

This router has two antennas. You can point one horizontally, and one
vertically, if required.
I get good signal strength within my house. Never checked across floors.

I plan to put DD-WRT firmware (
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page) on this router sometime.
