I agree, it wasn't a comprehensive survey.

But, I was aware of MSRTC thanks to prior PLUG postings citing it. Not
only MSRTC, BEST, Mumbai, too uses Linux. In fact it started before MSRTC.
There are other initiatives in states of WB, AP and TN that I had read
about though did not find much worth posting. The articles I cited showed
much stronger and institutionalized FOSS adoption as state initiatives.

For Maharashtra the link that I posted specifically was about a delegation
meeting the secretary in matters related to FOSS. May be on behalf of
PLUG, with help of FSF India is one way to reach the Govt. in the matters
all of us on this list seem to be concerned about.
