There were about 50 students and few faculty. While most of them had
some programming experience, they were new to Python. Each participant
had a separate computer to practice and learn.

The presentation was perfect for the target audience. They were able
to understand the Python constructs using the interpreter, and then
moved on to writing Python programs with Gedit. They were able to
grasp concepts quickly and implement it in Python.

For beginners with no programming experience, there is another
presentation available at:

Students can actually use Python for their programming lab
assignments. Faculty are working on research in Natural Language
Processing (NLP), and are interested in using Python for the same.

Regards,

SK
