What it means is - "Freenode will acknowledge that the group is<br>
officially registered and has a group contact that can handle all<br>
issues with the channel"<br>
<br>
Issues here are complaints against the content on the channel or<br>
complaint against how it is moderated and so on.<br></blockquote></div></div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">What is this objectionable content and what are the complaints ? #Pluggies is running for some 15 years or so and I have never heard about objectiobale content on it. Probably only after the "new kids on the block " ;-) are hanging out there this has started !! Quoting the staff member here - "mostly its just a good way for us to<br>
be able to track who we support - you're more than welcome to use the<br>
network without registration but its got some nice flash and can ease<br>
some administrative stuff if thats what you want"<br>

#pluggies is our official channel but there is no active moderation /<br>
management. This group registration activity will distribute the<br>
responsibility across members easing the "administrative stuff" that<br>
the staff member referred to.<br></blockquote></div></div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">There is hardly any administrative activities required there. Adding official status requires to handle Responsibilities by members and admins. I also discovered last week that there is #punelug channel which was<br>
registered a long time ago but is completely dormant these days. I'd<br>
like to add this to the list of channels that we would own as part of<br>
the group registration.<br></blockquote></div></div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Not aware of this #punelug channel. I'll go ahead with this process next weekend with the following IRC<br>
nicks as part of the primary group contacts for freenode:<br>
<br>
1. Dexter_OSC<br>
2. whereistejas<br>
3. dhanesh95<br>

If anyone has any queries or issues with this, please shout at me<br>
before Friday, 18th Sept 2020.<br>

Thanks!<br>
