[PLUG] Problem with souncard

hi,
   I recently installed Debian Sarge 3.1 on my system(kernel-2.6.8).I am having problem in soundcard.The card is listed in
+the pci devices

0000:00:1b.0 0403: Intel Corp. 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 03)

I install the snd-intel8x0 module,along with the i810_audio.
The following is the output of lsmod|grep snd

After doing this when i open xmms,and try playing some file,it says

Pls check that
1) Your soundcard is configured properly
2) You have the correct output plugin selected
3) No other program is blocking the soundcard.

Am i missing something.Please guide me on this.
