First you check the modem is ok in window.Then if your modem is on board
then check the driver in mother board CD .
    If your modem is external then CD is come with modem, in that CD the
driver is avaliable for linux.
    IF driver is present of above both case then install the driver.
then you can go the root (text mode) and run the following command
# redhat-config-netwirk
select the modem
and setup your dialup connection


If the driver is not present above both case then go the web site of that
product and dowload the driver of your modem.
