Subject: [PLUG] Pune Java Meet - Introduction To Groovy
To: PLUG <plug-mail at plug.org.in>
The IndicThreads.com Pune Java Meet will be held at Symbiosis Institute of
Computer Studies and Research (SICSR), 7th floor, Atur Centre, Model Colony,
Pune on 25th March 06 (Saturday) from 4.30 pm - 5.30 pm.
Featured Session: "Introduction to Groovy"
Groovy is the scripting language, which some predict is the future of the
Java platform.
http://groovy.codehaus.org/ says :"Groovy is an agile dynamic language for
the Java 2 Platform that has many of the features that people like so much
in languages like Python, Ruby and Smalltalk, making them available to Java
developers using a Java-like syntax. Groovy is designed to help you get
things done on the Java Platform in a quick, concise and fun way - Groovy
brings the power of a scripting language directly into the Java Platform."
Speaker: Harshad Oak (http://www.rightrix.com/harshad.htm)
The session will be followed by a discussion and Q&A on Java topics raised
by the participants.
Entry is on first-come-first-serve basis. Entry is free of cost.
