I'd suggest you add Dev-C++, Vim, Emacs, and MinGW (with documentation and
tutorials) into that mix. All students of Computer Science in schools (and
most colleges) today are forced to use an obsolete version of Turbo-C++,
which doesn't even support the latest C++ standard, and throws weird
exceptions even when using normal C. Then, of course, it's totally
non-standards-compliant, and encourages bad habits. Plus it has next to no
functionality compared to the two editors noted above.
