| Hey folks!
|
| Following some previous posts, I've concluded on a strategy for
| setting up a home (net connection sharing) network. Thought I'd brush
| past u guys once before I shell out the money.
|
| I have three machine:
| M1 - running windows and no wireless support
| M2 - running windows and with wireless support 802.11 abg
| M3 - OpenSuse 10.2 with wireless support 802.11 b
|
| A broadband connection with Motorola SB5100 cable modem
| I do not have a static IP
| Protocol used is PPPOE
|
| Using this setup:
|
| |--- M1
|   INTERNET === Cable Model ---- Wireless Router -|--- M2
|
| |--- M3
|
| 1. I have an ISP provided login program which I use to connect from
| windows machines, from Suse I use rp-pppoe. Would I be able to get all
| the 3 machine on the internet at the same time using this mode of
| connection?
|
| 2. Would any additional configuration be necessary on the three machines?
|
| 3. The wireless router in picture, could it be a:
| a. D-Link DI - 524 Wireless Access Point Router (approx Rs 2.7K)
| b. Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54G (approx Rs 3K)
| Any reviews?

I would recommend linksys. WRT54G can dial to your ISP using PPPoE. It
has also provides DHCP server.
No idea regarding DI524.
