Try installing (unless you already did) the nVidia drivers via 1-click
from http://en.opensuse.org/NVIDIA#openSUSE_10.3  does that help?

The second yellow icon is for legacy cards in case yours is in this
list http://en.opensuse.org/NVIDIA/Legacy
