My experience with Netgear DG834G has not been very good. I use it
with Thinkpad T60p with Atheros chip (Using non-free drivers on
Mandriva 2007). I cannot go beyond 10ft without serious problems and
the signal strength within a feet is never more than 67% ;-( With XP
(yes, I have!!!!!) no problems of this sort are seen.
Looked like made a wrong choice with the router. I am happy with the
laptop (minus wireless part)
I would very much like to try other options and make a transition some time.
