I am getting inclined towards this option with a new EDGE enabled
phone. My previous experience (last summer) with Nokia 6600 and Airtel
GPRS was fine. Given that I have Idea and Airtel cell connections, I
will switch as required.
There are options from Tata Indicom and Reliance. Reading feedback on
the net tells me of people having bad experiences with both.

I have two cellphone connections ;-) Juggling is the word.

Based in Pune. Will be in Chandigarh/Punjab/Delhi/HP for about 7 weeks
starting May.
Tata Indicom / Reliance data card/USB modem seem less dependable for
this level of variety.

At (on-road) speeds of your choice ;-)

In any case, s**t does happen (in ALL modes) and more so with present
state of internet connectivity in India.
Thanks to all.
