Buy a Thinkpad or a Dell that comes with Linux ;)

I don't know about Sony, but Dell and Lenovo offer machines with FreeDOS or
something, which essentially means that you install whatever you want.

I bought the Dell Inspiron 1420N that comes preloaded with Ubuntu and my
experience has been good so far.
