Somebody gave the idea that linux is command line based?
Now distros such as Fedora, Mandriva and Suse have GUI tools for
accomplishing most tasks.
Use this to acclimatize yourself to linux.
Once you are confident and know where everything is delve into the command
line terminal.
Staring from command line would now be unwise and dangerous as the
temptation to do su or sudo is too much.
I would advice Mandriva spring to start with . It has the right blend of
everything so a recent convert from Win platform will be at ease and
astonished when he sees the out of box support for most hardware....no
drivers required mostly.
You stumble, PLUG and Google are there.
