I guess missing translations of most part is the key problem. And for
translations that are available, many of them are either transliteration i.e.
writing english in deonagari script e.g एडिट or some words which are absolutely
alien in the day-to-day use of marathi.(Not that day-to-day use of marathi is
any metric of language purity. However it does represent the barrier of
acceptance.)
I use mr_IN.utf8 as my locale and 'रद्द करा' does not intuitively strike me as
translation of 'Cancel' in openoffice. I am used to it now but that is more by
location of buttons and couple of accidents rather than reading the labels. I
still don't use marathi translation of KDE. I can't do that on my production
machine since I have other commitments to meet.
Translating KDE is a huge job and there are only handful people working on it.
I tried getting some volunteers in-family but none seem interested in
computers in marathi. Personally I don't have time to commit but I would love
to see this translation succeed. :(
