From the few companies I have as clients, I have concluded that most 
companies are lax in tracking their TCO as far as IT is concerned.

When they don't have data as to how much downtime, virus infection etc. 
it would be hard to compare any bottom lines.  (I hope I understood 
your comment the way you intended it to be).
