Just to chime in favor of HP. I recently purchased a Deskjet F4200[1] series
printer which works out of the box in Fedora. Out of the box as in just connect
the thing to the USB port while using Gnome and wait for a few seconds !! Pretty
unbelievable stuff and yes, everything works.
