[PLUG] Dual boot problem OpenSuse + XP

Unable to boot windows XP.
On selecting Windows following message flashes
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
chainloader (hd0,0)+1
Grub loading stage 2
and again Screen for selecting operating system to boot appears.
The contents of menu.lst are as follows........

Checked /windows/C ( /dev/sda1/ ) has bootable.flag. and has boot.ini
YAST-> System -> Boot loader .. boot loader configuration ... boot from MBR
Please suggest what else should I check and how to go about fixing this problem without re-installing Windows.
