I think sticking with PLUG here may be a good idea here. They have the venue
and a following.

Besides, one group meet a month is quite enough! :) I don't want to have to
decide between multiple interest groups when I am equally interested in all
of them.

True, PLUG is at its core a FOSS advocacy group, but I see no reason why we
can't stretch that definition, if only until the majority of the group
members find us boring and ask us to desist. :)
