Hi,
We have no idea about your organisation. So, how about posting answers
to the following questions -
- Why Linux ? Is it just because it comes free of cost ? or are there any
other reasons ?
- When you say 'We would like to implement', do you mean to say your company
would like to only *use* the system or your company is ready to take the
efforts to *set up & maintain* the ERP s/w yourself ?
- Does your company already have Linux based machines ? In other words,
does the company already have personnel that can handle Linux machines ?
You should not get into a situation wherein (for e.g) you'll need to hire a
Linux consultant sometime later just to change a couple of rules in the
firewall. If your people are familiar/experts in using some other operating
systems, you can look at s/w running on that OS. IMO, it will pay off better
in the long run.
- Is your company ready to spend money on the deployment and support ?
- What are your long term expectations from the ERP s/w ? IMO, you should
enlist them right now; before choosing/buying any s/w. It should not happen
that, a year down the line you have to go for another s/w because the one
you chose today is not able to support a critical feature you need then.
My 2 cents...
Best regards,
Pranav
