[PLUG] Weired problem while accessing secure sites ubuntu 9.4

Hi Folks,

I have upgraded mine laptop from Ubuntu8.04---->Ubuntu8.10----->Ubuntu9.04

Now at this point of time it has started acting wired i am not able to
access Secure sites from browser (tried Firefox and Opera) it gets stuck on
login page itself.
I can not post forum entries at Linuxforums.org
Not able to find a way to switch off mother board beep while shutting down
the system.

Has any buddy encountered these weired problems?
