Interesting. Though not sure whether the statements that came in media are
with all this thought.

Particularly see this: They will "provide to the civil population the
spin-offs through select industry partners or production agencies"
(Somewhere the article mentions banking also.)

Also it says, this is a "national effort" spearheaded by DRDO in
partnership with software companies and academic institutions.


Legal matters is one thing. The premise of doing all this being "security"
of "operating systems developed in western countries" and instead "have
source code that nobody knows about" - at least the choice of words is
not very convincing.
