I copied the librpmbuild.so.7.0.1 over to librpmbuild.so.7.0.2

and tried again

Here is the improved output...

[root at localhost ~]# urpmi --auto-update
medium "Core Release2" is up-to-date
-- snip bunch of lines related --
-- to media being uptodate --
medium "Nonfree 32bit Updates" is up-to-date
error: db5 error(-30986) from dbcursor->c_get: BDB0075 DB_PAGE_NOTFOUND:
Requested page not found
Packages are up to date

So after this I ran

#rpm --rebuilddb

Now there are no errors. but I am not sure what happened to packages
that were in the process of update queue but weren't upgraded...

Anyway, thanks for the greatest help in shortest possible time, Let me
think of "how to next" before I badger/pester you more..
