There has been no objectionable content on the channel so far. The "new
kids on the block" have really been bringing up interesting
conversations on the channel. There also has been no loose talk from
any where else. I refered to it as an example for when the group
registration could prove useful.

I'd argue that there are hardly any administrative activities required.
A year ago, #pluggies was hit hard by spam and it took a while for the
OP to apply some restrictions. There might be another need for
something similar sometime in the future. Moreover, I'm thinking of
proposing the addition of meeting bots to the channel which will help
arrange meetups over the IRC channel. This is specifically useful in
current pandemic conditions.

Adding official status doesn't increase the responsibilities on the
admins but distributes it across multiple admins so that there is no
single point of failure. I, along with whereistejas, am ready to handle
this.

Unfortunately, there is no information around #punelug except that it
was created some 7 years ago and no one owns it currently.

That is correct and which is why I'm ready to discuss about this and am
not directly going ahead with the registration process.

Thanks and Regards,
