[PLUG] How to set path of shell script in .profile in Ubuntu 23.x system?

Just a hunch...

Use .xinitrc to set/write a variable to a file that will be read to assign MTU value when concerned app  gets started.

Just suggesting a thinking line , may not be a solution directly...
