I assume you are either talking about the paper "yFS: A Journaling File
System Design for Handling Large Data Sets with
   Reduced Seeking" or talking about
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=141750. The paper
was written around 2003 while the sf.net project talks about making a
filesystem equivalent of ZFS for Linux. A bit of ZFS features are made
available through FUSE for Linux as documented at
http://www.wizy.org/wiki/ZFS_on_FUSE

So, how difficult would it be for you/your group to work with
http://groups.google.com/group/zfs-fuse/about and figure out how to move
forward ?
