[PLUG] What are the Fedora 9 codename candidates?

I wonder whether these were suggested by a doctor :-/

On a serious note, what is the objective in having a 'codename' ? For an
unnamed product, it might seem logical to have some name initially, for
internal addressing. But, could not get the point in searching for a
codename for 'Fedora 9' ?
Any explanation would be welcome.
