[PLUG] recommendations for webcam that works on linux

hi!

I"ve to buy a webcam for my desktop that would work on linux may be on 
ubuntu or centos. looking for any recommendations from community members 
who might have used it. I want to use it for video calls via skype and 
google hangout. should work on usb. Any extra information or challenges, 
pro/cons and pricing information would also be helpful.
